What the Stats Tell Us – Millers v Lions

|

Rotherham United and Millwall played out a goalless draw at a very, very cold Den yesterday which, on reflection, was a good result for both sides.

Both sides kept a clean sheet, both sides got a point and both sides ended with eleven men (although Mr Harris doesn’t know how).

The hosts got the better of the percentage possession which is probably right as they had the better of a poor first half whereas the tall boys of the Millers got more success in the air.

If it was a contest in passing accuracy then the Lions took that both in the opponents half and elsewhere on the pitch and while Rotherham didn’t have as many crosses as Millwall their accuracy was a little better.

Millwall edged the shots on goal – nine to eight – while shots on target – three to one – went to the visitors. The Millers also won on yellow cards, four to nil, two of which I thought were a bit harsh.
