What The Stats Say – Millers v Lions

Rotherham United won their first game in three this afternoon when they beat Millwall at the New York Stadium by a single game.

According to the Stats the side from London had more possession and more corners with Millwall Manager Neil Harris told their Official Site that the Millers did ‘nowhere near enough to win the game’. He also went on to say, ‘I never felt in danger from Rotherham apart from one save from a counter-attack.’ I

Well, that’s as may be Mr Harris but the Millers got all three points and your team came away with nothing. I’m not convinced that the possession was as far apart at sixty/forty but even if that’s right it’s what you do with that possession that counts. Rotherham scored with it, Millwall didn’t.

Personally, I thought the Millers had the better of the first half and the Lions the better of the second. I think our lads played as a team where Millwall had two or three main players who, admittedly, caused us problems at times.

Whatever we all think, Rotherham United won the game fair and square despite not seeing as much of the ball as our opposition, allegedly.
