What Do The Stats Tell Us

|

I think it’s fair to say that Rotherham United’s last game of 2018 didn’t go exactly the way they wanted it.

Two sending-offs in the second half left the Millers down to nine men and yet they managed to hold on until the eighty-sixth minute. Had one or two of those shots from Jon Taylor counted in the first half things might just have been a little different when the red cards were issued.

All in all it can’t be much of a surprise that Bristol City ended up with more possession than Rotherham although, once again, we were better in the air and, according to the stats, our crossing accuracy was better. We also managed eighteen shots on goal of which three were on target.

It was backs to the wall for the the last half-an-hour or so and more so when Towell got his marching orders on the seventy-second minutes. But, I’m pleased to say, we didn’t give in – yes, OK , we weren’t going to score when you have to go to four-four-none but we came so close to praising our players for keeping a clean-sheet.

But, alas, that wasn’t to be.

Now to the worry of who is actually going to start on New Years Day when we entertain Preston North End at the New York Stadium.
