What Do The Stats Say – Rotherham Away At Bolton

Rotherham United got their second away win of the season yesterday this time against Bolton Wanderers who started the day in the top three.

But what do those stats say?

Well, firstly it says that Bolton had seventy-one per cent of possession (I bet that looked different after the first forty-five minutes) with the Millers were successful in forty-nine per cent of the duels, while the hosts were eighteen per cent better in the air.

Bolton had eleven corners to Rotherham’s four while our passing accuracy in the opponents half came out at sixty-one per cent. Defensively we had fifty-six per cent success in our tackles while we conceded sixteen fouls with Bolton conceding half that amount.

We had eight shots at goal of which three were on target to the hosts’ four on target from seventeen shots. Both teams saw three yellow cards.

We all know that the stats/match facts don’t always tell the story and they definitely don’t in this case. And, as we always say, it’s what you do with that possession that counts and, yesterday, we scored two goals while Wanderers scored none.
