What Do The Stats Say About Last Nights Cup Game

|

Rotherham United’s foray into the Carabao Cup might have come to a sticky end at the hands of the Toffees of Everton last night but Paul Warne’s men played with passion and commitment and earned a standing ovation from the travelling Millers fans at the end of the game.

I don’t think there was one player who didn’t give his all for the cause and with the stats showing that we had forty-seven per cent of possession I think it shows that it was very much an ‘end-to-end’ game.

Yes, Everton were the better side but there were times in the game if you hadn’t have known which team was in the Premier League then you’d have had a hard time picking.

Our goal came at a good time, and from a corner, but I then think we got a bit excited and the Blues went straight up the other end to get a third. If we’d held on for another couple of minutes who knows what might have happened?  And at least Will Vaulks got to do his trademark back flip.

Good Luck to Everton in the next round, whoever you get.
