What Do The Stats Say About Last Night?

I think quite a lot of us Millers fans were thinking that we should get a result tonight at home against a Hull City side who had only one point on the board.

And it looked like we were going to do that when Richard Wood’s header hit the back of the net to open the scoring.

But, as we know, football isn’t like that.

I did mention yesterday that I thought Nigel Adkins side might come out all guns blazing and they did. They, in my opinion, deserved their three points. And, yet, the stats are showing that it was a tighter game than, at least, I thought.

We had one more shot at goal than the Tigers yet they had six shots on target to our four. Having played the last couple of games when corners were few, very few, and far between we had seven last night to the visitors four.

Since the start of this season I’ve been bemoaning the fact that we don’t seem to tackle yet our success rate last night was seventy percent. I don’t actually think that’s too bad you know.

I do believe in the last fifteen minutes of the game we were the better side – but a game isn’t just fifteen minutes is it, it’s ninety minutes and City were the better side last night.

Am I right?
