What Do The Millers v Dons Stats Say?

Rotherham United got their second home draw of February yesterday with a one-one against MK Dons.

Millers Manager Paul Warne said he was disappointed with the result but pleased with the way the team played.

And the match stats from this game show that he’s right to be pleased. The Millers had fifty-four per cent of possession and won sixty-four per cent of the aerial duels and more of the duels over all.

Rotherham had ten corners to MK Dons’ four and our passing accuracy in the opponents half came out at fifty-seven per cent.

Of our seventeen shots on goal three were on target – which I feel is a bit frustrating – with MK Dons having three shots on target from five shots at goal.

Our visitors conceded fifteen fouls to the Millers thirteen and both sides were given two yellow cards apiece.

Warney also said that he thought if we’d have scored another goal we’d have got more and I believe that too. You can’t say we didn’t look like getting more goals with our chances but we really do have to take those chances – but how many years have I been saying that?

All in all I think it was more a frustrating performance yesterday than disappointing – and when you look at the top of the Premier League and League One where both teams at the top of the table lost, well, does it put our draw into a bit more prospective?  Naw, not really does it.
