Warne Would Like Twenty First Team Players

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne is targeting another six players.

Speaking to iFOLLOW the Millers Boss said, ‘I’ve got about fifteen first team players plus the young pro’s so if I could get to around twenty first team pro’s that would be great.’

We’ve already brought in two players – Curtis Morris on loan and defender Shaun McDonald – with Warney saying that this year feels like more of a rebuild than last year. Personally, I do think we need more than the twenty Warne says he wants unless we are going to ‘blood’ some of the youngsters who have come through the ranks here.

We’ve already lost Joe Newell to Hibernian and Jon Taylor has said his ‘goodbyes’ and as we’ve heard nothing about Ryan Williams (although he is with the Australian squad at the moment) or Anthony Forde it seems likely that they will be on their way. Warne has been meeting with players and has others to see before he takes a break with him saying that some of the deals are done but it’s just about ‘pushing it over the line’.

Nationally there doesn’t seem to have been a lot of movement since the season came to a close. I’m just hoping that the players the club are after aren’t suddenly plucked from our grasp by other clubs as has happened before.
