Warne ‘We Looked Lethargic Tonight’

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne said that Coventry City played better than the Millers this evening after losing one-nil to Mark Robins’ side at the New York Stadium tonight.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the loss the Millers Boss said he had no complaints about the result as Coventry were the better team.

‘They made our ‘keeper make loads more saves than we made theirs and they were more physical and possibly more direct than us.’

To be fair we didn’t seem to have an answer to anything they did (except for Viktor the Viking in goal) and they had every answer to what we tried.

The Gaffer said that the first twenty minutes, when our ‘keeper had to bring off to great saves, rattled the team and he’s not wrong. Coventry took the game to us from the first minute and we looked shell-shocked.

Not wanting to use the number of fixtures in a short time we have as an excuse Warney did admit there were some ‘tired legs’ out there saying, ‘we didn’t seem as sharp or as bright on the ball and as energetic as we were on Tuesday night we looked lethargic tonight.’

This game has made Sunday’s game against Birmingham very important.
