Warne ‘We Created The Chances To Win’

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne couldn’t have been any happier with his team as they kept going to get the late win away at Shrewsbury yesterday.

Speaking to Click Here the Millers Boss said, ‘I thought we were pretty good.’

Oh, Warney we were more than that! The Millers were dominant throughout the game with the Shrews goal on sixty-six minutes being their first shot at goal.

‘We started the game well,’ the Gaffer said, ‘and, I thought, created enough chances to win the game.’

The first Millers goal came from, what we Rotherham fans think, an unlikely source with the ball falling to Joe Mattock in the box – hey, he was there! – and he popped it into the net for his first of the season. The second goal in seven minutes of time added on came from substitute Michael Smith which was his fifth league goal of the season.

Warney actually didn’t think that Rotherham created many chances yesterday and wanted to see more crosses into the box but said he thought the Millers looked the better team on the day which he said was ‘really pleasing.’ and he had good words for Carlton Morris and Dan Barlaser while mentioning that Matt Olosunde was a ‘bit of a threat’.

Some good news is that the only ‘injury’ from this game seems to be to Joe Mattock who got a bit of a leg injury in the first half and came off before the end of the game.
