Rotherham United have released David Ball, Dominic Ball, Alex Bray, Emmanuel Onariase and Darren Potter.

David Ball joined the Millers from Fleetwood Town in June 2017 scoring nine goals in thirty-nine appearances in his first season. He made just three appearances for Rotherham this season, two of those coming in the EFL Cup, before he went out on loan to Bradford City where he played forty-two games finding the net seven times.

Dominic Ball arrived at the New York Stadium in August 2016 from Tottenham Hotspur and he made thirteen appearances before going out on loan to Peterborough. The following season he wore a Rotherham shirt just twice, once in the Football League Trophy and the other in the EFL Cup, before joining Aberdeen where he stayed on loan for another season playing thirty-nine times including games in the Europa League.

January 2017 saw Alex Bray join on loan from Swansea City which was made a permanent move in March. He made five appearances for the Millers all from the subs bench. The following season he played four games for Rotherham three of which were in the Football League Trophy and one in the EFL Cup with February seeing him go out on loan to Forest Green Rovers. Last season saw him join York City on loan finishing the season with Weston Super Mare.

Central defender Manny Onariase joined the Millers in August 2017 but after just two appearances in the Football League Trophy, January saw him join Cheltenham Town on loan until the end of the season. He spent this season just gone out on loan with National League side Dagenham and Redbridge.

Darren Potter joined the Millers in the summer of 2017 but injury kept his appearances down to eighteen while he’s managed just one this season which was in our last game against Middlesbrough when he came off the bench for the last twenty minutes or so.

I don’t think any of us Millers fans will be surprised with the released list, except maybe for Potter, who I know seems to be injury prone but when he came on against ‘Boro I thought he looked quite good. But, hey, what do I know?

My thoughts exactly, catman. I always feel when we get players in later on that they aren’t the ‘best of the bunch’ so to speak.
