Warne ‘Pleased’ With Performance

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne couldn’t have been anything but happy to see his Millers team put six goals past Doncaster Rovers in the Papa John Trophy game this evening.

Speaking to IFollow after the win at the Keepmoat Stadium, the Millers Boss thought his team ‘rode their luck’ a little keeping a clean sheet.

‘We made loads of changes,’ Warne said, ‘and we are really pleased to know that we can make changes and put on a really good performance. On another day we could have had more but we could also have conceded.’

Warney said that he thought both Griggy (Will Grigg, on his debut) and Freddie (Ladapo) caused problems for Rovers this evening saying he was really pleased, for him, that he scored. He also had some good words for Jake Hull who has come through the ranks with the Millers and also scored this evening saying ‘his attitude is spot on, he’s always trying to learn and he’s progressing nicely. He was virtually faultless tonight.

‘Overall I am really pleased with a lot of performances and that we came out of it injury free.’

Although  Tolaji Bola, also making his debut, came off leaving the Millers down to ten men it was more because he was fatigued rather than injured.’

Now onto Saturday when the Millers are back at home with Fleetwood Town the visitors and the hopes of another three points.
