Warne Linked With City Job

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne is, we are told, on Hull City’s wanted list to take over the vacant seat at the KCOM Stadium.

Warne has been in management since November 2016 firstly as caretaker manager before being appointed on a permanent deal in April 2017. The following December saw him win the EFL League One Manager Of The Month award.

After eighteen months at the helm Nigel Adkins told Hull City yesterday that he and his assistant Andy Crosby would be leaving at the end of the month saying that the future of the club and his future were ‘not aligned.’

The HITC says Warne, who is highly-regarded within coaching circles is one of a ‘host of names’ being linked with the job.

This isn’t the first time the Millers Boss has had clubs show interest in him with April seeing his name linked with London side Queens Park Rangers.

Sadly, Paul Warne’s father passed away yesterday afternoon and all our thoughts are with him and his family at this sad time.

Personally I think Paul Warne and Hull City would be a good match, maybe it’s time for a fresh approach with the Millers also.

Warne would be foolish to take the poisoned chalice at Hull with lots of issues behind the scenes and clearly no money to spend. He knows Rotherham inside out and is afforded a level of job security that many managers would love. He only needs to reflect on Paul Hirst at Ipswich. Big club big expectations and very little room for manoeuvre when it went wrong. He’s now at Scunthorpe and back to earth with a bump !!
Warney now needs to focus on a promotion and the building of a team able to cope in the Championship.
Hull City have seen the land of milk and honey but couldn’t survive there. I don’t think Warney would be their saviour.

He be sacked by Xmas, he be a fool going to a troubled club, only one club he go to and that never happen unless Norwich found themselves in div 1, he on a good thing at Rotherham very secure position not many managers find themselves in that, I have no doubt he turn Hull around but he need 2 seasons, and possibly have to take them down to div 1 to rebuild which I fancy hull city and there fans wouldn’t have the patience with like so many so called big clubs

I’d be surprised if Warney left the Millers – very surprised if he left for Hull.
