Warne Likes MacDonald’s Professionalism

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne is obviously pleased to have got his first signing for the 2019/20 season in the bag by fetching in Shaun MacDonald who he has known since the now thirty year old midfielder was a young loan signing at Yeovil Town.

Speaking to Freeview after MacDonald put pen to paper, the Millers Boss said that he tried to get the player in last summer and again in January so he says he’s ‘buzzing’ to finally get MacDonald over the line.

After signing a two year deal with the Millers Shaun said that he knows the club is a ‘hard working club’ and that he will always give ‘one hundred per cent to the Millers’.

‘I think I can bring a knowledge of how to get promoted,’ the midfielder carried on, ‘and part of me wanting to sign was getting us back into the Championship.’

Warney said that MacDonald is ‘very athletic, travels with the ball pretty easily and that he has the professionalism that he loves in players.’

Well, on paper our new player sounds good and I already like the way he’s saying ‘us’ after just a few hours.

Let’s hope Shaun is one of many new faces that we see in the next few weeks who want to wear the Millers shirt.
