Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne was really pleased with tonight’s win away at Middlesbrough telling Radio Sheffield that they deserved the win.

And I don’t think there will be many people who will argue with that. Three goals away from home and a clean sheet well if you didn’t know you wouldn’t think it was the Millers down at the bottom of the table would you?

‘I don’t think many people gave us much of a chance coming here,’ the Millers Boss said, ‘but we’ve got a fit, strong, motivated team and I thought we could cause them some problems.’

And we did. Our passing overall was good whereas Middlesbrough’s was often wasteful. Our goals were well taken, our goalkeeper Jamal Blackman made a couple of important saves and his defence helped out when needed.

‘I thought we might have been more up before half time,’ the Gaffer carried on, ‘but in fairness Middlesbrough caused us some problems with their one-two’s but the lads put their bodies on the line and it’s good that we’ve come away with a clean sheet. I thought we just had a bit more than them physically tonight.

‘The result was based on a hard working performance and tonight was about work and effort.’
