Rotherham United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Rotherham in the one nil victory over Queens Park Rangers at the weekend at the New York Stadium was enough to Warne a place as manager of the side made up of the most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Warne was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘There were wins against rivals, a debut triumph and some emphatic victories in the latest round of matches, but the honour this week goes to a man who oversaw a narrow home victory. Rotherham picked up their first win since 20th August, with Izzy Brown’s goal seeing them past Queens Park Rangers, and caretaker Warne – who made over 250 appearances for the Millers – heaped praise on his players after the success.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Warne for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Jayson Leutwiler (Shrewsbury Town), Dean Lewington (MK Dons), Christian Burgess (Portsmouth), Leon Legge (Cambridge United), Roy Beerens (Reading), Daniel Johnson (Preston North End), Mark Duffy (Sheffield United), David Wheeler (Exeter City), Dwight Gayle (Newcastle United), James Collins (Crawley Town), Tom Nichols (Peterborough United).

Manager – Paul Warne (Rotherham United).
