Warne ‘Had Enough Chances To Win But Tranmere Deserved Point’

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne thought the Millers had a better second half than they did the first forty-five minutes today in their one-all home draw with Tranmere Rovers.

Speaking to the Official Site the Millers Boss said, ‘Our second half performance was a lot better and I thought we created enough chances to win the game.’

Maybe we did but again we didn’t take them.

He carried on, ‘I thought our back four were excellent today. They did everything they had to today apart from the last few seconds.’

But the game wasn’t over – they still have to defend whether it’s the fifth minute or the ninety-fifth minute – and this hasn’t just been going on this season it was most of last season too.

Asked about the equaliser the Gaffer thought, like most of the people in the ground, that the ball had gone out of play and there was a hint of offside about it.

‘Tranmere deserved a point,’ Warney admitted.

Yes, I think they did. They bullied us and I think were better in the air than us.

It’s probably a good job that we’ve got those away points to fall back on at the moment. But let’s not forget that this is only the first month of the season and the table isn’t a true picture with some teams having played Bury, some not, and the Millers having had another game postponed.

Onwards and Upwards. And it’s a South Yorkshire league derby next week to look forward too (or not as the case may be!!)
