Warne Expecting To Sign Seven or Eight Players

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne isn’t really expecting any movement of players until next month.

Speaking after announcing the retained list the Millers Boss told the Official Site said, ‘I think we will need to sign seven or eight players in the summer and we’ve already started conversations to get people in. Some of the players we want are still tied to clubs so it’s a matter of us agreeing a fee.

‘It’s difficult getting players in early in the window because the list is constantly changing. I wouldn’t think there will be any movement until, at least, June.’

Warney also said that they had to try and ‘sell’ the club to any prospective players – well, to be honest, if Paul Warne can’t do that then the player obviously doesn’t want to come! Nearly every player who walks through that door at the New York Stadium says that it’s the manager/boss/gaffer’s enthusiasm for the club that made their minds up to join.

The Millers have fourteen first team players on the retained list – Dan Barlaser, Tolaji Bola, Curtis Durose, Shane Ferguson, Wes Harding, Georgie Kelly, Ciaran McGuckin, Hakeem Odoffin, Joshua Kayode, Ollie Rathbone, Josh Vickers, Mackenzie Warne, Ben Wiles and Richard Wood – of which eleven have played league football for the Rotherham first team.
