Warne ‘Emotionally Raw’ After Loss

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne says that we didn’t get what we deserved after this evenings late goal saw Blackburn Rovers take all three points.

And I, for one, agree with him.

‘It’s always cruel when you lose in the last few seconds,’ the Millers Boss told IFollow, ‘and I’m still very raw emotionally about it.’

Aren’t we all. But what a shame that it will be that last minute goal that we will remember this game for and not some of the good play that went on during the game.

‘We played so well and the lads gave everything physically,’ the Gaffer went on, ‘and I don’t think my ‘keeper had a save to make.’

Well, actually, Warney there were two good saves from Viktor Johansson this evening.

‘But we had guilt edged chances in the second half,’ said Warney, ‘and if we don’t take them then one goal possibly is not going to be enough. But I thought at the very least we deserved a point. I shook hands with all their players after the game and five or six of them said ‘you didn’t deserve that’. All that effort for nothing but we can more than compete at this level, we just have to be more clinical. We can’t have that many opportunities and not take them. I feel for our lads tonight because they didn’t deserve this.’

That goal was a blow but as well as taking chances we’ve got to learn to hold onto a lead.

Another tough game on Saturday – Up The Millers.

This loss is exactly why Rotherham United will yet again be relegated back to league one and please let’s not challenge for the championship again, cruel defeat seems so but its the same old story isn’t it from Warne the lads gave there all blah blah blah from calamity Warne, so bitterly disappointing after such a hopeful start back in September, thankfully the long suffering fans haven’t had to pay out there ha d earned cash to watch this, let’s hope 2021 is a better year for everyone as for the Millers it’s the same old story not good enough to compete and win on a regular basis in the championship, do feel the time for a change in manager as arrived, freshen things up, new face, something different, but we all no Tony Stewart thinks the sunshines outta Mr calamity warnes backside

I really think we have to learn to compete in the division – we’ve been here a few times now and should have learned. But I would say more of our performances this season so far than not have been better than before.
