Vital Rotherham United’s Man Of The Month for October is midfielder Ben Wiles.

Born in Rotherham the twenty-two year old came through the ranks with the Millers signing his first professional contract with the club in the summer of 2017. A couple of months later he had a youth loan spell with Northern Premier League Division One South club Frickley Athletic playing five times before returning to the New York Stadium and making his debut for Rotherham in an EFL Trophy game. Since then, up until the end of October, Ben has made one hundred and twenty-seven appearances in a Millers shirt scoring seven goals, his first one coming in a League One game at home to Tranmere Rovers.

Ben was our Man of the Match in our four-one win over Portsmouth where he scored the last goal. Rarmani Edmonds-Green was voted Man of the Match in our away win at Cheltenham with Hakeem Odoffin getting the accolade against Scunthorpe in the Papa Johns Trophy game. Midfielder Dan Barlaser was twice voted Vital Rotherham’s Man of the Match in our games with Wycombe Wanderers and MK Dons and in our Trophy game against a Manchester City U21 the vote went to Kieran Sadlier after his hat-trick in the five-one home win. The last game in October saw Sunderland at the New York Stadium when double scorer Michael Smith got the votes after the Millers five-one win.
