Vital Rotherham’s Man of the Month for August is Mallik Wilks!
Mallik joined the Millers half-way through the first month of the season on loan from neighbours Sheffield Wednesday and has featured in five games. He was twice voted our Man of the Match – firstly in the Carabao Cup game away at Fleetwood Town and then in our last game of August, the two-one win at home over Huddersfield Town where he scored our late winner, his first goal in a Rotherham shirt.
Our first game of the season was away at Exeter where goalkeeper Dillon Phillips was voted Man of the Match with Sam Nombe getting the accolade in our first round League Cup game away at Crewe where he scored our first in the two-one win.
A goalless draw at home to Bristol Rovers saw the Man of the Match go to Reece James with goalkeeper Cameron Dawson getting the vote in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy win over Mansfield Town at the New York Stadium. A loss at Wycombe followed where Jamie McCart got the Man of the Match.
