At a video conference today UEFA said they are still planning for the football league to re-start this season in June although they have said that they understand that in some countries it could be impossible to finish the season.

A UEFA statement says, ‘There was a strong recommendation given to finish domestic top division and cup competitions, but some special cases will be heard once guidelines concerning participation to European competitions – in case of a cancelled league – have been developed.’ What or who the ‘special cases’ mean hasn’t been mentioned.

Although there are some countries that are hopeful of re-starting their season again in May, the English leagues aren’t expecting to be able to start again until June at the earliest.

Meanwhile the 2020/1 season is being planned to play out as normal and another meeting is planned later this week to work out a revised fixture.

So, really, we are no nearer knowing when we might see Rotherham United in action again and if it will be in a stadium or live on TV.
