Trophy Head-to-Head – Millers v Stags

Rotherham United welcome Mansfield Town for their first visit to the New York Stadium in this season’s Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

The Millers and Stags have met just once in this competition in the past which was in September 2007 at Field Mill. Ian Sharps gave the visitors the win on forty-nine minutes.

Last season Mansfield beat Doncaster Rovers three-two at home before losing to an Everton U21 side also at home and then lost two-one to Burton away. They came third in Group H which was where their competition ended.

The Millers were last in the competition in the 2021/22 season which saw them get Wembley in the final against Sutton United, winning four-two after extra time.

Last time the Stags were on Rotherham soil was in October 2007 at Millmoor in a game that saw five goals with the Millers three-nil up and Mansfield pulling two back in the last fifteen minutes of the game.
