Those Stats – Millers v Robins

Rotherham United got their sixth win on the road this weekend, beating Bristol City at Ashton Gate by two goals to nil.

Our self-isolating Manager will be happy, our Assistant Manager was happy, the players will be happy and the fans will be happy – and, probably, a bit worse for wear! Of course, we are still in the bottom three of the Championship but we have three and four games in hand of those around us and our goal difference is better than the four teams who are above us at the moment. There’s another ‘but’, (isn’t there always) that we have to win those three or four games.

Today’s game saw the Robins have the majority of possession with the stats saying it was sixty-seven per cent – now, watching on Ifollow Millers it didn’t look that much of a difference but I might have my red and white specs on of course.

The success rates of the duels was pretty even with the hosts having seven corners to our two. (Did we really only have two corners?) Rotherham’s passing accuracy in the opponents half came out at fifty-four per cent with City’s at sixty-six per cent with our crossing accuracy being forty-six per cent to the Robins’ twenty-two.

This afternoon saw the Millers have seven shots at goal of which four were on target while Bristol City had one on target from ten shots. Our shots were five outside the box and two in the box. Rotherham gave away ten fouls to City’s eight and both had a player yellow carded.
