Those Stats – Millers v Ipswich

Rotherham United took all three points in front of the Sky Camera’s today at the New York Stadium but what do those stats tell us?

Firstly they tell us that Ipswich Town had more possession than the Millers – fifty-three per cent to forty-seven. (Now this surprises me a little. I honestly thought we had the ball a lot more than Town). Rotherham won seventy-two per cent of the aerial duels and had ten corner to Town’s six.

Our passing accuracy in our opponents half came out at sixty-one per cent – have to say I do think that some of our passing around midfield was a bit wayward at times, more so in the first half.

Attack wise we had fourteen shots at goal of which three were on target and all but one of those shots was from inside the box. Ipswich had one shot on target from three.

Our tackle success rate was seventy-eight per cent with Ipswich not far behind on seventy-five per cent. We conceded four fouls to our visitors sixteen and Ipswich were given five yellow cards to Rotherham’s one – and I feel that at least one occasion one of those yellows could have been a red.

So, we now have to take this result and performance into Tuesday nights game at Burton where we are hoping for another good result.
