Rotherham United brought in another loan signing late into the last day of the January transfer window with striker Charlie Wyke making the move from Wigan Athletic until the end of the season.

Thirty-one year old striker Charlie came through the youth ranks with his home club Middlesbrough and while there had loan spells with Kettering Town, Hartlepool United and AFC Wimbledon before January 2015 saw him sign for Carlisle United.

He went on to score thirty-nine goals for the Cumbrians in almost ninety appearances before moving up to League One with Bradford City in January 2017 scoring twenty-three times. The summer of 2018 saw Sunderland pay a reported £400,000 for Charlie’s services where he helped them to a League One Play-Off Final which they lost to Charlton Athletic. But his thirty-one goals helped them to a consecutive Final and up into the Championship with him being named their Player of the Year.

HIs next move was to Wigan Athletic who he also got promoted to the Championship with making fifty-seven appearances, twenty-two this season, scoring fifteen goals.

All at Vital Rotherham welcome Charlie to the New York Stadium.
