Rotherham United got a point away at Huddersfield Town yesterday – but what do the stats tell us?
Firstly they say that the hosts had fifty-eight per cent of the possession (hmm, not so sure about that myself) and they had thirty-five touches in the box to Rotherham’s twenty-one.
The Millers had eleven shots of which three were on target and four were blocked with three of those attempts being outside the box. Of the twenty-three shots Town had, nine were on target and eight from outside the box. Dillon Phillips made seven saves yesterday which was four more than his counterpart Jacob Chapman.
Our passing accuracy came out at sixty-nine per cent the Terriers seventy-five while of the nine corners Town got six of them. We played fifty-two back passes, Town four more with our hosts sending one hundred and ninety-four forward balls to our one hundred and fifty-two.
Town won sixty-two per cent of the aerial duels and we gave away eleven fouls, one more than our opponents while both teams had two yellow cards, Huddersfield also getting one red card.
I enjoyed the game yesterday to say it ended goalless. Again we played as a team and some of our football was good with some proper challenges being made. And, there was a unity about the team from the first to last minute. Of course, there were mistakes but it’s good we can pass over them and concentrate on what was good about the team.
Bolton at home up next – we need to take the play from these last two away games and do the same at home.
