The Stats – Millers v Posh

|

Rotherham United got a point away at Peterborough yesterday – but should it have been more?

Probably, yes.

But what do the stats tell us?

Possession wise the stats say that Peterborough had seventy-six per cent of possession – to be honest, I find that hard to believe as after we’d equalised it was all Rotherham in that first half, what do you think?

The Millers had eleven shots at goal, six of which were on target and two of which were blocked. Posh also had six on target but from thirteen shots of which five were blocked. There were three shots saved from each goalkeeper while the passing percentage came out at ninety-one to the hosts, sixty-nine to Rotherham.

Touches in the box was a win for the hosts – thirty-two to nineteen while the Millers won eighteen of the aerial duels to ‘Boro’s thirteen. There were eleven corners in the game of which eight went to Peterborough. Rotherham committed thirteen fouls, four more than Posh with three yellow cards going to the hosts and one to the Millers.

I know we are all disappointed at coming away with a point when we went in three-one up at half-time. And conceding two from corners within a few minutes isn’t at all good.

But let’s look at the positives. We scored three goals away from home. We had chances to score more – hit posts, hit crossbar. We got some crosses into the box for others to have chances. We played some very good balls forward. We got a point away from home and I don’t think many of us would have really expected that. We didn’t lose.

Wrexham will be a different kettle of fish – but we are looking better, we are playing better, cut out the sloppy defending from set-pieces and you never know what will happen.

Up The Millers.
