The Stats – Millers v MK Dons

Rotherham United got their first home loss of 2022 when MK Dons were the visitors winning two-one.

But what do the stats tell us?

Possession wise the Millers had fifty-seven per cent and won fifty-three per cent of the aerial duels with there being seven corners, four of those to the home side. According to the stats there were no offsides in the game – well, that might be because the linesman on the family stand side probably wouldn’t know offside if it came up and bit him on the bum.

The Millers passing accuracy in our opponents half came out as sixty-five per cent with MK Dons getting forty-two per cent. Am I a bit surprised at this? Well I was until I thought back to the game and recalled us passing the ball about between the three at the back for quite a lot of the game.

Attack stats say that Rotherham had sixteen shots at goal of which four were on target with twelve of those shots coming from inside the box. Our visitors had three shots on target from four.

In defence we had twelve tackles to the Dons’ twenty-two and we conceded seventeen fouls to our opponents nine. Again, I suppose it’s what we are calling a foul or just plain falling down. There were three yellow cards, two for MK Dons and the visitors also got the only red card of the game.
