The Stats – Millers v Millwall

Rotherham United got a very rare win yesterday beating Millwall at the New York Stadium by two goals to one.

But what about those stats?

The Millers had forty-three per cent of possession yesterday and the success in all duels was even at fifty per cent each while Millwall won the aerial duels with fifty-four per cent.

There were thirteen corners in the game with just two going to Rotherham. Our passing accuracy in our opponents half came out at forty-one per cent which was twenty-one per cent worse than the Lions.

Attack wise we had five shots on goal, three of those from inside the box, of which four were on target while our visitors had seven on target from twenty-one shots.

In defence we won twenty-one tackles, eight more than our opponents and made forty-two clearances to their twelve. We conceded eleven fouls to their ten and the only cards of the game were two yellows to Rotherham players.

It wasn’t the best game in the world – from both teams – but I think we’d all take three points and poor play at this stage of the season, albeit, probably a little late for us Millers.
