The Stats – Millers v Crawley

Rotherham United got nothing at the weekend from their trip to Crawley Town – but what do the stats say?

Firstly, the hosts had more possession with fifty-five per cent with the Millers having six shots of which two were on target, three off target and one blocked. Of the ten shots Crawley had three were on target.

The Millers passing percentage came out at seventy per cent, Crawley ten per cent more and of the nine corners six went to Rotherham. Touches in the box went Crawley’s way with twenty-two which was nine more than the visitors.

Both ‘keepers made two saves. Rotherham committed sixteen fouls to Towns seven and won seven with the hosts winning fifteen. There were five yellow cards in the game, the Millers getting two of them.

Life as a Miller has never been easy – we usually take two steps forward, one back but with the hype and promises in the summer I think most of us was expecting more than we’re getting at the moment. What can we do about it? As fans nothing. It’s annoying, frustrating, the football is not good, it’s not pretty, sometimes I wonder if it’s even football and many fans have voiced their concerns both on social media platforms and in person at grounds. But, at the moment, it is what it is. Hand on heart I can’t see how it’s going to get any better – but I so hope I’m soon eating my words.
