The Stats – Millers v Chairboys

Rotherham United came out of last night’s game with their seventh unbeaten game on the trot keeping a clean sheet against Wycombe Wanderers at the New York Stadium.

But what do those stats say? What they don’t say is how Mr Robert Madley did . . . .or didn’t do as the case may be.

The Millers had fifty-seven per cent of possession although the duels in the air were easily won by the visitors who had seventy per cent (I bet they had seventy per cent of falling down water too). Rotherham had seven corners to the five of Wycombe with the hosts passing accuracy in the opponents half being fifty-seven per cent.

We had eight shots at goal two of which were on target while the Chairboys had one on target from ten shots. Seven of our shots were outside the box last night while it is on record that we gave away fourteen fouls (depends what you can fouls I suppose) to Wanderers’ eight. Rotherham were shown two yellow cards to Wycombe’s one.

It wasn’t a pretty game, it wasn’t exciting, it wasn’t even good but all through that we did keep a clean sheet and we did get a point. And perhaps it only seems disappointing after the good game and result on Saturday.

Now to MK Dons who got a two-one away win at Wigan tonight which isn’t a bad result at all. We know we can score goals and that is something we are going to have to do at the weekend and some of our passing was poor, to say the least, tonight but it’s onwards and upwards to the Stadium:mk.
