The Stats – Millers v Chairboys

Despite having umpteen chances in yesterday’s game away at Wycombe Rotherham United lost two-nil.

But what do the stats say?

Firstly they say that the hosts had fifty-seven per cent of possession, the Millers forty-three – I actually find that hard to believe but what do they say, stats never lie?

The Millers had nineteen shots at goal of which eight were on target and four were blocked while Wycombe had six on target from eleven shots. Touches in the box came out at twenty-seven to eighteen in favour of Rotherham. Passing accuracy came out at seventy-four per cent to the hosts, sixty-five per cent to the visitors.

Wycombe’s goalkeeper had eight saves to Dillon Phillips’ four while duels won in the air were close – thirty-three for Wanderers, one less for the Millers. There were thirteen corners in the game the visitors getting nine of them.

Wanderers committed ten fouls one worthy of a yellow card, Rotherham seven with two yellow cards given.

All in all on paper it very much looks like the Millers should have come away with three points – it’s the reality that’s hard to take.
