The Stats – Millers v Canaries

Rotherham United got their second five-nil trouncing of the week on Saturday away at Norwich City so what do those stats say.

The Millers had thirty-two per cent possession, had forty-eight per cent possession in all duels with duels in the air being equal at fifty per cent each.

There were seven corners in the game, out hosts winning four of them while our passing accuracy in our opponents half came out at sixty-six per cent, which was eleven per cent less than City’s.

In attack we had two shots from inside the box on goal with none on target while Norwich had eight on target from eighteen shots.

Defence wise our tackle success rate came out at fifty-three per cent, Norwich’s sixty-nine, while we made nineteen clearances, ten more than the hosts. We conceded twelve fouls to the Canaries nine with the only yellow card of the game going the way of Norwich.

Another no shots on target isn’t pretty reading is it.

In his post match interview Leam Richardson said that he wants to be able to take some pride out of the last nine games and I think that’s all we can really ask for now. A bit of fight, show us what you can do. We go one down and we fall to pieces. We go one in front and can’t hold on. As fans I feel we deserve more than that, don’t you?
