The Stats – Millers v Brewers

Rotherham United got their twentieth game without defeat yesterday when Burton Albion were on the end of a three-one loss at the New York Stadium.

But what do those stats say?

The Millers had fourteen shots on goal of which five were on target while the visitors had two on target from sixteen shots. Eleven of our shots were inside the box. Possession wise Rotherham had forty-eight per cent while Burton had fifty-two.

Our passing accuracy in our opponents box came out at fifty-five per cent, two per cent less than Burton’s and the Brewers had eight corners to Rotherham’s five.

Ariel duels came out at fifty/fifty while discipline wise the Millers gave away just two fouls to the Brewers’ eight and the only yellow card went to the visitors.

Personally, I’m surprised our passing accuracy came out at fifty-five per cent as I thought our passing was poor yesterday and we gave away quite a few balls in midfield which could have proved costly – though, luckily didn’t.

Did we play well? We’ve played better. Did Burton? Not really but they did put up more of a fight. Did we win? Yes. Did we get three points? Yes. Should we be moaning . . . . probably not!
