The Stats – Millers v Brewers

|

Rotherham United got a point on Saturday in a two-all draw against Burton Albion at the New York Stadium.

But what do those stats say?

They first tell us that our visitors had most possession with fifty-three per cent although when it came to touches in the box the Millers had thirty-four which was twenty-three more than Burton.

We won nineteen of the aerial duels on Saturday, Albion fifteen and of the eleven corners seven of those went to the Millers.

The Millers had sixteen shots of which five were on target and four blocked while Burton had three on target from eight shots.

There were four saves in the game, Albion’s ‘keeper making three of them with the Brewers having thirteen fouls against them, one more than Rotherham with each team having one yellow card against them.

It might not have been the result we wanted – or expected to be fair – but I do think we are producing more shots than last season, getting in the box more and going forward more.

I suppose we’ve got to say it’s ‘baby steps’ and hope those babies soon turn into toddlers then adults.
