The Stats – Millers v Brewers

|

Rotherham United lost this evening away at the Pirelli Stadium against Burton Albion – but what do those stats tell us?

The Millers had fifty-eight per cent of the possession at tonight’s game and got fifty-four per cent success rate in the duels as well as having thirteen corners to Burton’s six.

Surprisingly to me our passing accuracy came out at sixty-one per cent and fifty-two per cent in our opponents half. I actually thought a lot of our passing wasn’t the best this evening.

Attack wise we had twenty-one shots on goal of which five were on target, nine of the shots coming from inside the box, Burton had two shots on target from seven. So, it’s not that we aren’t getting in the box it’s just that our final balls don’t appear to be working, either headers or shots. And I can’t work out why. We were scoring for fun at the start of the season and for quite a long time. Lately, we’ve gone behind and panic has set in but I didn’t see that tonight – if anything we might have been trying too hard. Probably worse is that both goals we gave away tonight were sloppy.

In defence we had fifty-eight per cent success in our tackles while Burton had two per cent more. The hosts conceded fourteen fouls to our eight with both sides having two players booked.
