Rotherham United striker Jerry Yates has been sent out on loan to Carlisle United until the end of the season.

A loan isn’t new to the twenty-one year old who came through the Youth ranks with the Millers as he’s had loan spells with both Harrogate Railway Athletic and Harrogate Town in the past.

Jerry’s first game for Rotherham came in the Championship away at Birmingham in April 2015 when he came off the bench for the last five minutes. His first goals came the following season when he scored two in the EFL Cup at home to Morecambe with his first league goal being in our two-one home win against Norwich City in January 2017.

Last season Jerry made twenty appearances scoring twice.

To be fair this is probably a good move for our young striker as I couldn’t see him getting many league starts this coming season and he’d probably be kicking his heels on the bench whereas at Carlisle he is almost certain to get game time.

All at Vital Rotherham wish Jerry ‘all the best’ for his season out on loan.
