Stats Not Pretty Reading But Those Three Points Are Welcome

|

Rotherham United might be compared to Dick Turpin this evening after coming from one down to win Swansea two-one with both goals coming from the penalty spot but I think it’s about time we were getting a bit of that ‘lady luck’ we’ve been talking about for the past few weeks.

I don’t think there is any denying that Swansea were much better than us yesterday and I don’t think we were in the game in the first half. But we were better in the second half and the best thing is that we stayed in the game and kept going until the end.

I also think the substitutions had a lot to do with it. I raised my eyebrows when I saw Kyle Vassell had been replaced with Ryan Manning, I didn’t think Vassell was having as bad a game as some of the others, but, of course, if Manning hadn’t been on who would have taken those deciding penalties? And how well did he take them?

The possession stats show that Rotherham had just twenty-nine per cent but, of course, as we’ve said before, it’s what you do with that twenty-nine per cent that counts.

It’s three points in the bag and sees us move up to eighteenth – and who would have thought that after the first forty-five minutes?!
