Rotherham United got their second league win of the new season at the Pirelli Stadium yesterday but I, for one, thought the game was pretty even.

The stats tell us that Burton had more possession than the Millers – fifty-four per cent to Rotherham’s forty-six – me, I’d have said fifty/fifty. They also say that the Millers had the better of the duels both on the ground and in the air.

The Brewers passing accuracy was slightly better although the Millers were slightly better at passing in their opponents half. It also appears that Albion had seventeen shots at goal, two being on target with the Millers having two less though twice as many on target.

Surprisingly, to me anyway, when we look at the ‘tackles success rate’ Burton get eighty per cent with Rotherham’s percentage being sixty-seven – personally, I’d question that – but, of course, what matters to the team and fans in red and white is the scoreline. A fortuitous goal maybe but, as I always think, you have to be in the right place at the right time to help get that fortune.
