Stats After Millers Win At Hillsborough

|

Rotherham United won this evenings South Yorkshire derby beating Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough by two goals to one but what do those stats tell us?

The first thing they say is that the Owls had the majority of the possession with sixty-six per cent while the Millers won slightly more of the duels. The hosts had seven corners to our four with our passing accuracy in our opponents half was fifty-two per cent, the Owls’ being seventy per cent.

Attacking wise we had nine shots tonight of which five were on target, two in the back of the net with the hosts also having five on target from fifteen shots. Four of our shots were outside the box. Sheffield Wednesday conceded thirteen fouls this evening, two more than us and they had the only yellow of the game although the Millers did have a player sent-off.

We’ve had a few moans lately about having a lot of shots but hardly any on target so I’m pleased that tonight proves we can make the ‘keeper’s save shots and we do know where the net is. Of course, this is just one game (but what an important one) and we have to go and do it again on Saturday where I don’t think the opposition will be quite as easy (no disrespect to the Owls) as tonight’s were.
