Rotherham United’s poor form under manager Ronnie Moore, continued this afternoon with a nil-nil draw at Don Valley against Aldershot.

Aldershot started the better side and had two corners within the first minutes of the game. The Millers first action came after eight minutes when a quick throw in from Paul Warne found Tom Pope whose shot was stopped by Anthony Charles before falling to Warne but Louis Soares blocked his shot. Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz was then brought into the action as he saved well from an Andy Nicholas shot after Kevin Ellison found him from a corner. At the other end John Grant, starting his first game of the season, had a shot that went just wide and as no-one closed Andy Sandell down he set Scott Donnelly up for a shot but his curler didn’t really bother Warrington. As half-time drew near, the Millers had the best chance when an inswinging corner from Ellison found the top of Pope’s head but he put it just over the bar.

Neither side created much in the second half with the Millers first chance of the half falling to Danny Harrison but his shot went wide. On the hour mark, the hard working Warne, found Dale Tonge, who in turn found Ellison but Jaimez-Ruiz was out quickly to block. Warrington had to save four minutes later when he tipped Adam Hinshelwood’s header over the bar and moments later, a free-kick from Donnelly was curled round the wall and hit the outside of the post. Ellison had a shot from twenty-five yards out which saw the ‘keeper scrambling back but it went just wide before a header from Nicholas was brilliantly saved by Jaimez-Ruiz. Marvin Morgan came on for Grant and almost immediately found himself in shooting space but Ian Sharps was on hand to clear and moments later Kirk Hudson crossed for Anthony Straker but he sent the ball just wide.

Although the Millers keep their unbeaten league record at Don Valley it is still four games without a win.
