Rotherham United are thought to have have a bid for midfielder Dru Yearwood turned down by Southend United.

The Southend Echo says that Southend have rejected a £200,000 bid for the nineteen year old.

Dru came through the Youth ranks at Roots Hall and signed a four year contract in the summer of 2017 when Phil Brown was Manager after impressing in a pre-season with the first team.

The young midfielder has made sixty-two appearances for the Shrimpers in all competitions, thirty-three of which were last season.

This is the second midfielder it’s being reported that the Millers have had bids turned down for with the first being Ross County’s Jamie Lindsay.

So far Millers Manager Paul Warne has brought in two players this summer – Carlton Morris on loan from Norwich City and Shaun MacDonald who has signed a two year deal after he was released from Wigan at the end of last season – with the only outgoing so far being Joe Newell who has joined to Hibs.
