Rotherham United might be losing Nigerian International Semi Ajayi with The 72 saying that Championship side Leeds United are on the brink of signing him.

Semi came to the Millers originally on loan from Cardiff City in January 2017 impressing enough for the club to offer him a permanent deal in March which was completed in the summer. He scored his first goal on Valentines Day at home against Huddersfield Town, playing seventeen times during his loan spell. The following season he was always first on the team sheet and his five goals helped Rotherham back into the Championship via a the Wembley Play-Off Final.

Last season Semi played wherever Rotherham Boss Paul Warne asked him too and scored eight times in forty-nine appearances one of those goals being a long range strike against Leeds United at the New York Stadium in January which saw him get the clubs Goal Of The Season award. He was also named the Away Player Of The Season.

Will Semi leave? Well, to be honest, I’m not sure. Yes he would get Championship football but would he get to play week-in week-out? I’m not sure about that. He’d be a big miss for the Millers and, if I was a betting person, I’d like to think his name, once again, would be on the team sheet first every week. But, (and there’s always a but isn’t there) would he get to play any more International games for Nigeria as a League One player?

Also, released forward David Ball is interesting Mansfield Town. Chad seem to think the Stags could be losing a striker who Ball could replace.

After signing for the Millers in the summer of 2017 from Fleetwood Town, David scored nine goals in his first season with his second season seeing him play just three times, the last time in the League Cup at Goodison Park against Everton in the August. In September he went out on loan to Bradford City where he made forty-two appearances finding the net seven times.

Rumours? Or could there be some truth in both cases?
