That there window is open again and, as usual, there are rumours circulating involving Rotherham United one of those being that we are one of three clubs ‘interested’ in signing winger Hakeeb Adelakun (whose full name is Hakeeb Adeola Abiola Ayinde O. O. J. Adelakun).

Born in Hackney, Hakeeb spent his youth career with both Crystal Palace and West Ham United before signing for Scunthorpe United in 2012. He helped the Iron get promoted back to League One in the 2013/14 season his first goal coming in November of that season while he played in both the League One Play-Off games against the Millers in May 2018.

The summer of 2018 saw the now twenty-three year old join Bristol City who he has made just five appearances for, again one of those being against Rotherham in the Championship, but hasn’t had any game time so far this season.

The Football Insider tells us that as well as the Millers both Sunderland and our South Yorkshire neighbours Doncaster Rovers have all made enquiries about Hakeeb.

Probably one to keep an eye on.
