Rotherham United striker Jerry Yates picked up a foot injury in Tuesday evenings game against an U21 Manchester City side which, lucky isn’t as bad as first thought.

Warney told the Official Site that he feared the twenty year old had a broken his metatarsal and that he’d be out for twelve to fourteen weeks.

And although the club aren’t one hundred per cent sure, it looks like the injury he’s sustained will mean he’s out for only a couple of weeks.

Speaking to iFOLLOW Warney went on to talk about new boy Shaun Cummings who played in the Cup game on Tuesday, saying, ‘If I had to throw him in on Saturday to start then he could but I still think he’s a couple of weeks away.

‘I was pleased with him on Tuesday. He was really calm on the ball and put great deliveries into the box.

‘All in all I was really happy with him.’

Winger Alex Bray got half-an-hour on Tuesday night with Warney saying, ‘I’ve told Alex he’s part of this club, part of the squad and part of the way we want to play going forward.

‘Once he fights his way into the team he will be hard to dislodge but it’s up to him with his performances in training to warrant that opportunity.

‘We’re trying to get him more physical and his slightness is an advantage when he’s got the ball at his feet but he needs a bit more when he’s not got possession.

‘I’ve got a lot of time for Alex and I’m hoping he’ll have a great future with us.’
