Rotherham United’s signing of a winger today has fallen through.

Speaking to MillersPlayer Millers Manager, Steve Evans said that the deal had collapsed.

‘Paul Douglas thought that everything was agreed yesterday,’ Evans said, ‘but after the briefest of handshakes with the young man and his representatives this morning, but a deal couldn’t be agreed and he’s left the building without signing.
‘Paul said the numbers didn’t meet of what he’d agreed and what he’d written down yesterday. Paul Douglas is very meticulous and if he says it’s off well he controls that side of things. We thought we were there but it’s not Paul who’s changed the goalposts.

‘He is still someone I like as a player and a young man I thought we could develop at Rotherham. I’m disappointed. Would he have started every game? Well possibly not. Would he have progressed and become a really exciting player at the New York Stadium? I really think so. Paul Raynor and I both watched him and both liked him. It`s a down day of being a manager because I came in today thinking we were getting a new signing and it’s not to be.’
