Rotherham United are in for a windfall of around £200,000 thanks to Derby County buying ex player, Shaun Barker from Blackpool.

Barker joined Blackpool from Rotherham three years ago for £35,000 but there was a clause in the deal that said the Millers could demand twenty per cent of any future transfer fee.

Twenty-six year old Barker signed a three year deal with Championship side Derby County yesterday with Rams boss, Nigel Clough telling their Official Site, ‘Shaun has been one of our top targets all summer and we are delighted he’s here at Pride Park.’

It could be that Shaun will be facing his former club next month with the Millers playing Derby in the first round of the Carling Cup.
