With the Millers getting ready to play in League One, what happened to the players who last got us out of this league . . . .

Lee Frecklington

Frecks came through his home club Lincoln City’s Centre of Excellence, making quick progress through their Youth ranks signing his first professional contract in 2005. He went on to play over one hundred and twenty-five games for the Imps being named in the League Two 2006/7 Team of the Year. February 2009 saw the midfielder have a three month loan spell with Peterborough and went on to sign for them at the end of that loan period and went on to play around eighty-five times for them.

October 2012 saw Frecks join the Millers on a months loan impressing enough to be given a two-and-a-half year deal the following January. Getting back-to-back promotions with Rotherham his first goal came away at Aldershot during his loan spell.

The thirty-one year old was named as club captain in September 2015, something the Millers fans thought he should have been awarded at the beginning of the season. July 2016 saw Lee sign another deal with Rotherham keeping at the New York Stadium until 2018.

All in all Frecks has made one hundred and sixty-six appearances in a Rotherham shirt scoring thirty goals. Last season he was in and out of the side due to injury problems playing just twenty-two times with his only goal coming in the last game of the season in our one-all home draw with Derby County.
