Rotherham United goalkeeper, Andy Warrington said that the players were surprised when they found out about having a new Manager.

Speaking to The Official Site after Andy Scott`s appointment on Wednesday, the former Doncaster and Bury ‘keeper said, ‘It was a surprise when we found out the news but the gaffer has got a proven track record at this level and exciting times are ahead.

‘We`ve let ourselves down over the last few weeks which has been a disappointing thing amongst the lads so, hopefully, the new gaffer coming in will give us a lift.`

Warrington, who is currently out of the squad with a bad toe injury, carried on, ‘For me it`s unfortunate that I`m not back in training but I think we`ve got the squad here to get into the play-offs and we`ve got the manager to help us do that.

‘The Brentford side he took up as champions were a strong side and we know he likes his team to be very organised. He`s told us that he`ll support us and we know we`ve got to get behind him and try and get into those play -off places now.`
